Here at The Daily Muse, there’s nothing we love more than you, our readers. And we know that the valuable insights and great advice you share are part of what makes our community so unique and so strong.

And that’s why we want to hear from you! Today, we’re kicking off our first-ever essay contest—that’s right, your opportunity to be featured on The Daily Muse. Anyone and everyone is welcome to enter, so join in, share your career savvy, and get your writing noticed!

To enter the contest, submit a 500-700 word essay on the topic: “The Biggest Mistake I Made at My First Job—and What I Learned From It.”

The top 6 finalists will be published and promoted by The Daily Muse, and the first place winner will have his or her article featured on Forbes!

Guidelines

Submit your story by sending a Word Document to contest@thedailymuse.com. The deadline is Monday, March 26 at 6:00 PM EST. No entries submitted after the deadline will be accepted.

After all entries are submitted, we’ll choose 6 finalists to be featured on The Daily Muse. We’ll be looking for creativity, high-quality writing, and lessons that will inspire and guide our readers.

Each of the finalists’ essays will be featured on The Daily Muse during the month of April. We will notify each finalist via email, along with the date that their story will be featured.

Voting

After all the finalists have appeared on the site, we’ll open up voting for the first place winner to our readers. The winner will be solely based on reader votes. Voting will take place April 20-25. So, spread the word about your favorite finalist on your own blog, your Twitter account, your Facebook page, and through good ol’ word-of-mouth!

Winner

The winner of the contest will be announced on Thursday, April 26.
