Name: Lasheen Williams
Title: Brand Strategist at Fairygodboss
Hobbies: Semi-professional cosplayer, karaoke enthusiast
Location: Jersey City, NJ

Lasheen joined Fairygodboss in 2021, and in his current role, he‘s responsible for fostering a great relationship with clients. “I strongly believe that people buy from who they like,” he says. “As such, I go above and beyond with every client to ensure that they trust our product, trust our mission statement, and trust that I will always put their best interests ahead of a dollar sign.” Check out how he spends a typical day working from home.

7 a.m.

My mornings start when my alarm goes off, with an immediate trip to the gym for an hour. I get my blood pumping with a fasted workout of cardio, calisthenics, and weight training. I feel like once I’ve lifted 500 pounds of metal, nothing can stop me for the day. Then, I’ll have a protein shake and head back home.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I work from home, so after my gym session, I hit the showers, suit up, and get in my “business zone.” Wearing a suit every day while being home is my way of mentally holding myself accountable.

My work days vary, but I start with housekeeping items like replying to emails and slack notifications. Since I have clients on the West Coast, I expect that they’ll send emails after hours and I want them to know that they’re being heard first thing.

There are some days where I’m chasing down renewals from clients, scheduling quarterly business reviews (QBRs), executing QBRs, moderating Fairygodboss Live Webinars, participating in internal meetings, or celebrating a win when I close a renewal deal.

All of my clients are at different stages of neediness, so I may spend more time with some than others. I have QBRs that last 20 minutes and others that require the whole hour. No matter what, after every QBR, the client receives a recap follow up of what was discussed on the call.

2 p.m.

I am laser focused once my work day begins and I like to schedule all of my major tasks one after the other. That way when I’m done with everything, I can break without anxiety. As such, I typically won’t go on a break until 2 p.m. But that usually means I have a relatively stress-free afternoon when I get back.

5:30 p.m.

The last thing I do is make sure my tasks for the next day are labeled and timed accordingly, and that all of my emails and Slacks have been answered up until that point.

I’ve made a point not to be glued to my work emails after hours anymore, so I hardstop responses at 6 p.m. every day. My wife commutes, so when I am done with my day, I ALWAYS make sure that she is walking into a clean house with dinner near ready or already plated.

10 p.m.

It varies night by night, but most times I am watching a horror movie. Other times you’ll find me at karaoke night.
