6 Perfect Destination Weddings

by , June 17, 2012 — No comments

These days, destination weddings are becoming more and more popular. Many couples are opting for smaller and more intimate wedding celebrations at a location they love, rather than larger gatherings in their hometowns. Some couples are even throwing two weddings—a large event for everyone at home, and a more cozy and cherished celebration further away.

If you’re considering a destination wedding, get some inspiration from these couples, who planned events everywhere from the sunny beaches of Florida to the dry deserts of Morocco. Happy planning—and bon voyage!

Sasha and Larry opted for a vintage beach-style wedding in Jamaica, where Sasha’s mother’s side is from. The intimate ceremony, held on 11/11/11, was not only sentimental for the couple, but for Sasha’s family—2011 was the 11th year of the passing of her grandmother, whom she visited often in Jamaica.

The Half Moon Resort, where they wed, is well known for executing some of the most amazing weddings in the Caribbean. Check out more from their gorgeous day.

When you think destination weddings, you usually think of a place outside of the U.S. But technically, it can take place anywhere other than where the bride and groom live.

Sasha and Sammy are originally from the Northeast, but chose to get married in Delray Beach, Florida at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Their fabulous Asian-themed wedding featured gorgeous décor and amazing details, including paper lanterns and sake bottles as favors.
