Makin' it (at) Work: Win a Blazer

It seems like orange is everywhere this spring and summer! Bright, bold orange is all over the color-blocking trend, fluorescent orange is a statement-making neon bright, and soft orange goes perfectly with this season’s modern pastels.

Women are rediscovering (or maybe discovering) their love for this versatile and statement-making color—and for me, it’s morphed into a full-blown obsession. My first experiment with orange was when I picked up a bold vintage dress this winter, and it was so much fun to wear that it’s increased my craving for the color ever since.

And then, to make matters worse, I discovered this beautiful blazer from Quincy, which has officially solidified my love for all things orange, from coral to electric to creamsicle. Plus, it showed me that orange is totally appropriate for the office! It’s a super-energizing color to wear, especially as you walk to work in a sea of black.

I paired the blazer with a subdued palette of grays, which complement the color beautifully, but also make it blend into the corporate world without a hitch. Mixing bold with conservative is always a good way to go when you’re trying something that feels loud or daring, like a new pattern, color, or silhouette.

And even if this shade of orange isn’t for you, I definitely recommend checking out Quincy’s blazers. The brand-new line takes a different approach to sizing (actually taking into account your bust, body shape, and height—not just your dress size!), and I ended up with a blazer that fits amazingly well. Plus, the fabrics are so soft with a little stretch and a feeling of luxury. Whereas some blazers are restrictive from tightness in the chest or shoulders, my Quincy blazer was forgiving and flexible—like I wasn’t wearing a blazer at all.

I might just have to have it in the herringbone color, too.

Thanks Jean! Redheads are told growing up that we should avoid oranges, reds, and pinks, but I've learned to disagree. The two actually can go together well!

Glad you ladies like the blazer! The quincy sizing is so much better than most retailers - I was impressed with how well it fit!

I love blazers, the herringbone is lovely. The boucle is also great. I like how Quincy is sizing clothes according to bra size, so often designers get it wrong.

I picked up a blazer in this color when I was in Spain last spring. Love fun brights like this!
