Makin it at Work: The Outtake Reel

We have to admit, we considered that it might be style blogger suicide to post our “outfit outtakes,” but our philosophy about life—live and laugh—got the best of us. We wanted to share our photographic bloopers, not only to reveal our imperfections as bloggers as our contribution to the “Things I’m Afraid to Tell You” movement, but because we thought we’d start the summer on a good, laugh-inducing note.

And also, because we’re taking a brief hiatus, and we won’t be writing regularly for The Daily Muse again until September. But don’t fret! Meredith will still be writing—our bi-weekly Makin’ it (at) Work style column will be replaced with a new column on Meredith’s summer adventures as she takes a leave of absence from her corporate law firm gig to intern with Musana Jewelry, a non-profit based in Uganda, Africa.

So, for now, we bid you adieu and hope that this summer as successful, stylish fruitful, and fun-filled as possible. We’ve had so much fun this past year sharing our favorite work ensembles with you and we can’t wait to share more come autumn. Enjoy these outtakes, and cheers to laughter and adventures!

The Chanel Look for Less

Here, Meredith is catching her balance, probably standing on uneven ground in tall heels. We have much less grace than meets the eye.

Blazers, Re-Thunk

This is Lindsay trying to be gangster. Fail.

Menswear à la Femme

Lindsay was inspired by the ice skaters at Rockefeller Center, shown here in the background.

Winter Whites

Sometimes, we have a hearty laugh during our shoots (despite how cold it may be—this day happened to be one of the only freezing days this winter)!

Spot On

Twist and shout! This skirt was so much fun to twirl in.

Those are wonderful! The best part is you both still look beautiful in every shot! And Lin, twirling is required in some skirts :)

Totally cool that you shoe these pics. I think that looking at them is just as much fun as looking at the real ones!
