It’s just a fact of the fashion world: Chanel never goes out of style. Her bouclé skirt suit and quilted purse remain at the height of fashion, season after season, and I’m quite sure this won’t be changing anytime soon.
And that means that Chanel-inspired looks are always a safe bet for office wear: They’re classic, they’re elegant, and you know they’ll make you look polished, professional, and fabulous.
I (sadly) can’t claim any Chanel to my name, but I did recently snag this Free People jacket, which is a close approximation. Quite appropriately, I found it in a thrift store in the Chanel capital of the world (the Upper East Side), and, despite my recent moratorium on clothing shopping (to generally cut down on my fashion consumption and to save up for exciting summer adventures!), picking it up was a no-brainer. I’m currently fighting the desire to wear it to work every day—so at least I know it was a good investment!
