6 Ways to Make Your Wardrobe Infinitely Better

Have you stood in front of your closet and moaned some version of "Ugh! I hate all of my clothes right now!" recently?

Us, too—and by recently, we mean every time the season changes. Wouldn't it be awesome if someone could just come in a few times a year and give you an entirely new wardrobe, based on what you love and what you need, and without the price tag of a personal stylist? Or, better yet, if you had an endlessly rotating supply of clothes so you'd always be on-trend and you'd never have to wear the same thing twice?

Well, we've recently discovered a new crop of companies aiming to solve precisely these dilemmas. Read on for six amazing new fashion sites that'll make sure you're always thrilled when you open your closet doors.

1. If You Need a Whole New Look: CakeStyle

CakeStyle

CakeStyle is the online version of a personal stylist: After answering a short questionnaire about what brands and styles you love, wear, and need, you're assigned a stylist, who picks out a whole new wardrobe for you each season (and explains how to wear it via a personalized video!).

The site works with mostly designer brands, so it's on the pricey side, but if you've just landed a big job and need a fantastic new wardrobe, it's the easiest way to get a new look you know you'll love.

2. If You Need a Whole New Look (on a Budget): Tog+Porter

Tog+Porter

Similar to CakeStyle, Tog+Porter will connect you with a stylist who will work with you to determine your custom style profile, but you'll also get to set a budget, between $200 and $1,500. Your stylist will pick out great new items for you, send them your way, and put them all together for you in a virtual, one-on-one styling session.

3. If You Love Others Picking Out Your Clothes: Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix

We discovered Stitch Fix when putting together a list of our favorite subscription boxes, and we seriously can't get enough of it. Every month (or really, as much as you'd like), you get a box of five items hand-picked for you. You can weigh in on your style, size, and preferences (e.g., you need tops but don't need pants, or you hate tight skirts), but what you get in your box is a delightful surprise. Return anything you don't love and tell Stitch Fix why—the stylists will make sure your next Fix is even better.

4. If You Always Want Something New: Le Tote

Le Tote

Le Tote is like that awesome friend who always lets you borrow her clothes: For $49 per month, you get unlimited clothing and accessory rentals delivered to you by mail. Each rental package contains three clothing items and two accessories, and you can keep it as long as you'd like. Once you're done with the box, send it back, and a new crop of items is on its way. (Note: The site is still in beta, but sign up with code fashionforward, and you can bypass the waiting list.)

5. If You Have a Special Event: Rent the Runway

Rent the Runway

It's summer wedding season, and we know you want a different dress for each event! Rent the Runway is the answer—the site rents designer dresses for 90% off retail price, starting at $35. We've also rented dresses for birthdays, graduations, and big meetings—really, it's perfect for any time you need to look fabulous but don't want to throw down hundreds of dollars for a dress you'll only wear once.

6. For Guys: Trunk Club

Trunk Club

Guys, we didn't forget about you: Trunk Club is the online personal shopping service for men. You'll get to weigh in on your style, preferences, needs, and budget, and a stylist will send you 6-8 clothing items in a box for you to try on. Don't love them? Don't keep them.

Tell us! Have you tried any of these sites? What did you think? Any awesome companies out there that we missed?
