From cool shades of blue to warm, cozy neutrals, we can’t get enough of fall’s freshest hues. But you don’t have to stick to just one shade! Whether you’re colorblocking or mixing and matching, don’t be afraid to try season’s chicest color combinations, even at the office!
Take a look at our four favorite pairings, and learn how to pull them off effortlessly all season long.
1. Cobalt + Camel
Cobalt and camel is the sleekest, freshest color combination of the season, and it’s the easiest to pull off at work. A classic camel-colored trench, skirt, or knit sweater tones down bold cobalt, so feel free to pile on a few cobalt pieces in one ensemble. If you’re just getting used to this vibrant blue, try pairing your go-to jeans or shift with a cobalt bag and a pair of cobalt pumps.
2. Oxblood + Leopard
While leopard isn’t necessarily something that comes to mind when we talk colors, it’s definitely fall’s most popular neutral! And there’s something so sophisticated about pairing the print with a deep scarlet shade: oxblood. For the office, try an oxblood jacket, slacks, or dress with touches of leopard, from a sheer blouse or a clutch to a pair of spotted cat eyes for the evening commute.
3. Gray + Navy
When navy and gray meet, it’s a cool, classic, cozy combination made in closet heaven. To make this look wearable at work, pair professional navy pieces like a blazer, crossbody, heels, or a mid-length skirt with casual grays like an embellished sweatshirt, cable knit scarf, or tweed pants.
4. Mustard + Olive
This earthy color combination is perfect for a casual workplace. These hues work so well together because they’re adjacent to each other on the color wheel—just be sure not to overdo your look head to toe (or you might look a bit like a dinosaur). For jeans attire, pair an army jacket and olive flats with a mustard scarf, or try a flowy mustard skirt with olive booties and a hat. For a dressier atmosphere, try finding a shift in a fun olive and mustard print, or add a mustard cardigan to your look.
