Job Description

The main purpose of the Chief of Staff (COS) is to be a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer Procurement Leaders & President World 50 EMEA (CEO) in the day to day operations of the business. They enable the CEO to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfil commitments to staff, clients, partners, leadership team and Board. Acting as a confidante and right hand to the CEO, assisting other EMEA ELT members when required as well as supporting the region's functions according to circumstances and needs.

The Chief of Staff must act as the eyes and ears of the CEO, constantly reading the temperature of the people in the business. Keeping the CEO in touch by attending key meetings, coordinating among different areas of the business, and generally helping to implement the visions of ELT within the rest of the company.

Partnering with the CEO on messaging, what's top of agenda, and ensuring that the ELT focus and commitments of time are aligned with the strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

CEO direct support:

  • Act as an adviser to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team; facilitating effective decision-making
  • Ensure the CEO's time and attention is leveraged most effectively - manage calendar and cadence
  • Keep CEO abreast of the current company climate (employee wellbeing, project statuses, new proposals etc.)
  • Responsible for tasks not covered by an existing member of the ELT or function heads
  • Key point person for all levels of staff for guidance and counsel - acting in the best interest for the company, Board and all levels of employees globally.

Communications:

  • Responsible for creating communications on behalf of the CEO and/or research in support of these. e.g. CEO update at Board meetings, large scale presentations for partners and staff, social media and various speaking engagements involving external audiences
  • Manage internal communications across the region and in partnership with the Group level
  • Develop Executive Leadership presentations by aggregating and synthesising information
  • Responsible for the strategy of all internal global events

Planning and strategic initiatives:

  • Ensure that critical meetings are run according to governance; manage schedule, organise all agendas and materials to correct schedule, and hold participants accountable to actions
  • Manage company master calendar, including recurring meetings, internal events, communications - ensure deadlines are set and met
  • Oversee and manage highly prioritised projects on behalf of the CEO and executive team.
  • Investigate tools /methods that facilitate effective operations across the business, supporting delivery of strategy and values.

Customer focus:

  • Manage and expand relationships with key strategic external contacts in relation to Nandini's influence
  • Support the growth of EMEA and PL membership and partnership base
  • Ensure inclusivity of all associates
