Siemensis seeking to recruit a highly qualified and motivated CFD engineer to join itsDevelopment Support team. The engineer will work in the Development SupportFluids department and contribute to its Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)division, placing focus on the core CFD modelling capabilities of Siemens PLM'sflagship multi-physics simulation product, Simcenter STAR-CCM+.

Asa Development Support member, the engineer will verify CFD software predictionsmeet the highest quality standards and help deliver advanced technical softwaresupport services to a global client base.

DevelopmentSupport provide high level support that facilitates the transfer of technicalknowledge between the Solution Domains Development organization and the rest ofthe company. Development Support engineers work closely with softwaredevelopers as new versions of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ are developed, to help ensurenew software features are well understood and function as intended.

DevelopmentSupport engineers liaise with teams worldwide to provide advanced technicalsolutions such that end user issues are promptly answered or fixed, whilesoftware products are used to their maximum potential.

Asa member of the Development Support CFD division, you will be expected tocontribute to constitutive areas related to finite volume flow solvers,turbulence, heat transfer and computational aeroacoustics modelling. To succeedin this role, you must demonstrate advanced knowledge of CFD and experiencewith modeling complex industrial flows typical of such applications asturbomachinery, external aerodynamics, and internal combustion engines. Goodcommunication and organizational skills, ability to prioritize multipleprojects and work efficiently with multi-cultural technical teams are essentialto this role.

Responsibilities

• Making sure newly implemented Simcenter STAR-CCM+ developments are wellunderstood. Emphasis is given to verifying new features function as designedthroughout the development and release cycles.

• Triaging customer bug reports submitted to the development teams

• Supporting internal customers

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• A postgraduate degree (PhD, MEng, MSc or equivalent) inMechanical/Automotive/Aerospace/Marine Engineering or other closely relatedfields

• Extensive experience industrial/research working with CFDsoftware

• Extensive experience/knowledge supporting and/or testing CFDsoftware

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of theoretical, experimental and numericalfluid dynamics

• Expertise in numerical modeling of aerodynamic and hydrodynamic applications

• Basic programming and/or scripting skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work individually and as part of a team to meet project goals

• Good organizational skills

• Proven ability to work autonomously and to prioritize multiple projects

• Fluent English speaking, reading and writing

Preferred knowledge/skills:

Exposureor experience in the following areas will be considered advantageous:

• Experience using Simcenter STAR-CCM+

• Java and/or C++ programming skills

• Expertise in areas of physical science: thermodynamics, heat transfer,aeroacoustics, multiphase, or combustion

• Knowledge in application of CFD methods: vehicle aerodynamics, internalcombustion engines, turbomachinery, porous media, vehicle thermal management
