Senior Email Operations Manager

SUMMARY:

Rakuten Rewards is looking for a Sr. Email Operations Manager to join the Engagement Marketing team. The ideal candidate will oversee end-to-end execution for email marketing campaigns across a variety of growth, retention and product marketing efforts utilizing our owned channels. This role will work cross-functionally within the Marketing organization and collaborate with internal teams to plan, coordinate and deliver impactful Email marketing campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

50% Strategy

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to create and communicate Email messaging calendar, cadence and communicate strategies to internal and external teams.
  • Review all Email creative briefs, attend creative reviews and provide feedback on behalf of Email Production and marketing teams
  • Optimize results for email campaigns by testing subject lines, creative, copy, frequency, in partnership with Email Retention team.
  • Stay up to date on email best practices, technologies, trends, and CAN-SPAM laws and take actions when necessary to make updates to keep program compliant
  • Collaborate with Email marketing leadership to develop retention marketing strategies aligned to the overall business objectives.
  • Serve as point of contact to all Email stakeholders and provide recommendations for Email campaign execution based on historical testing, channel best practices and marketing technology capabilities
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics teams to review Email channel performance metrics, testing plans and provide feedback for Email reporting needs and dashboards

50% Operations

  • Operate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Digital Strategy, and other internal stakeholders to manage and execute programs across a variety of marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as point of contact to support the delivery of the Engagement marketing projects across owned channels. Involved in end-to-end execution, from briefing through to delivery.
  • Manage all communications to internal stakeholders, internal production teams, and executive level updates on Email Program projects and status
  • Responsible for sharing out updates on Email program to Executive leadership teams via multiple forms of communication.
  • Develops project scope, requirements, integration points and success metrics.
  • Responsible for managing quarterly prioritization process of incoming projects and optimizing process based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Responsible for ensuring project timeliness and success through implementation of project timelines, regular check-in meetings, and on-going communication of project status.
  • Oversee Email Production On Call schedules, communications and process
  • Manages projects against risks and escalates issues when necessary; identifies solutions to remedy issues and executes next steps in partnership with Email Operations team
  • Continually optimizes processes and functions to improve operational effectiveness and efficiencies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • 4+ Years of Email Marketing experience or lifecycle marketing experience
  • Prior experience in project management roles
  • Strong knowledge of segmentation, email list management and deliverability
  • Experience reviewing, executing and reporting on A/B testing and multivariate testing
  • Requires experience with marketing data management
  • Must be comfortable managing multiple projects on tight deadlines in a complex and matrixed organization
  • Experience working with project management tools (Jira, Monday.com etc.)
  • Exceptional project management skills, extremely detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing projects and tight deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: able to anticipate issues, identify opportunities and possesses keen sense of project situational awareness

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4-5 years of relevant work experience within marketing, creative or product management with proven track record of delivering results

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.

USD $99,306.00 - $171,612.00 annually
