What you will do

The PGIM Private Capital Infrastructure group manages a multi-billion dollar portfolio of private debt investments in infrastructure globally. Candidates will participate in the origination and management of transactions in the transportation, social infrastructure, digital infrastructure, renewable power and energy infrastructure sectors with a focus on European infrastructure. Our European office network includes London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan and Madrid, and more broadly the group invests in North America, Latin America, Europe and Australia, providing candidates a global perspective on infrastructure investment.

What you can expect

As Infrastructure Director you will be an Experienced Investment Professional based within our European office network. You will play a critical role in sourcing, structuring, underwriting and managing private debt investments in European infrastructure. This is an important role in all elements of our investment process, including partnering with our investment teams across Europe and our broader industry focused teams within our Real Assets Group to source and underwrite investments in multiple infrastructure sectors. In your new role, you will use existing background and career experience, while also developing new skills involving financial analysis, transaction negotiation, structuring, execution and documentation as well as marketing and new business development. Targeted transactions will include senior and subordinated debt and other yield-focused investments in core and core-plus infrastructure within Europe. You will report to the investment team leader based in the US and will form part of a team that covers several jurisdictions globally. The candidate will be expected to operate with a certain degree of autonomy while also benefiting from engagement with key team members across our organization.

Candidates based in London who have the direct relevant experience are welcome to apply, but please note that the role will be based in one of our Continental European offices (France, Germany, Italy, Ireland or Spain) and you must have the necessary right to work within the location.

What you will bring

  • 7+ years of experience in the corporate finance industry, with a focus on infrastructure investments (project and corporate) in targeted sectors, including: Transportation, Social/Government, Communications/Digital, Renewable Power and Energy Infrastructure, primarily within Europe.
  • Strong analytical and investment skills and a proven track record in making and/or managing solid debt investments over time.
  • Willingness to take on a range of responsibilities, as we value candidates with the flexibility and versatility to engage in activities that meet the evolving needs of the team given the nature of the business.
  • Excellent relationship skills and ability to develop business with new and existing clients.
  • Ability to distill, and then to clearly and concisely communicate, complex issues to a variety of decision makers and audiences.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, managing more junior resources and partnering with other diverse teams within the organization.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; having an ability to communicate results and influence decisions at various levels, internally and externally.
  • Willingness to travel is essential.

What will set you apart?

  • Strong experience within the infrastructure debt sector in Europe, with solid sponsor, issuer and adviser relationships.
  • Specific knowledge/experience in project and structured finance transactions, Project Bonds, Private Placements, across both senior and junior capital and holdco transactions.
  • Knowledge of one or more additional language, particularly Spanish, French, German, Dutch and Italian.
