The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has opening for a CAD Engineer to work in our Chesapeake, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the PEO IWS 5 program mission. In this mission, we provide support to the Navy's AN/SQQ-89(V) program, to include the development of Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), As-Built drawings and issuance of LARs against approved Ship Installation Drawing packages.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Associates Degree, its equivalent or higher, and 3+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD - 2D
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat Pro for conversion of drawing products and deliverables
  • Proficient with MS Office - full suite of products
  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance upon hire.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education - Favorable if you have:

  • AAS / AS with an emphasis in Computer Aided Design
  • Proficiency Experience with some or all of the following:
  • Block Wiring Diagrams/ Design
  • Electrical Diagrams / Design
  • Piping Diagrams/ Design
  • HVAC Diagrams/ Design
  • Navy combat system Installation Control Drawings (ICDs)
  • Navy Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs)

Responsibilities - Work you'll do:

  • Coordinate the Production and delivery of Installation Control Drawing Packages for the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 system
  • Coordinate the Production and delivery of As-Built Drawing Packages for the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 system
  • Coordinate the Development of Ship Installation Drawing LAR Packages for Naval Maritime Systems; using ANSI, ASME (Y14.5M), and/or NAVSEA (TS9090), standards and drafting requirements, and conducting Shipboard Validations as necessary to facilitate compliance with Naval technical standards.
  • Guide the CAD Team in the implementation of Red Line changes on the customer database using AutoCAD and Adobe Pro.
  • Work with QA Department to develop and implement Quantitative Metrics for all products
  • Development of Drafting Standards and Practices, as well as Training Materials for the Drafting Department.

Clearance Required:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
