The Financial Analytics Lead is pivotal in steering our technology funding strategy, ensuring our investments are both strategically aligned and financially sound. This high-visibility role involves critical evaluation of business case proformas, applying rigorous financial principles such as NPV, IRR, and a detailed understanding of cash flows, CapEx, and OpEx. You will frequently interact with senior leadership, providing insights that influence major investment decisions and shape corporate strategy.

The Financial Analytics Lead plays a pivotal role in our Value Office by collating, modeling, interpreting, and analyzing data to identify and explain variances and trends, enhancing modeling techniques to inform strategic decision-making. This high-visibility role involves critical evaluation of business case proformas with rigorous application of financial principles such as NPV, IRR, and a comprehensive understanding of cash flows, CapEx, and OpEx. You will frequently interact with senior leadership, providing insights that significantly influence major investment decisions and corporate strategy. The role demands exercising independent judgment and decision making on complex issues, often advising executives to develop functional strategies that are segment specific.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and Analyze Proformas: Critically assess detailed business case proformas for technology projects, focusing on their financial and strategic merits.


  • Validation and Verification: Ensure the accuracy and realism of the financial models and projections presented, employing advanced analytical techniques to identify overestimated values or underappreciated risks.
  • Financial Metric Analysis: Expertly calculate and analyze key financial metrics, including Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR), to assess project viability.
  • Cash Flow Management: Evaluate projects with a keen understanding of 'cash-out-the-door', capital expenditures (CapEx), and operational expenditures (OpEx).
  • Asset Management: Analyze potential write-offs of existing assets and the financial impacts of avoided depreciation on written-off assets.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with various business and technology functions to gather insights and align project evaluations with overall company goals.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to senior management regarding funding approvals or rejections.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously refine and enhance the evaluation process to improve decision-making accuracy and efficiency.
  • Responsive Team Leadership: Guide and mentor team members in advanced financial analysis and critical thinking skills. Prepared to lead a team under tight deadlines and manage a stream of ad hoc requests, prioritizing effectively to meet strategic needs.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Regularly collaborate with senior leaders, ensuring alignment of project evaluations with broader company objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8 years or more of technical experience
  • 2 years or more of project leadership experience
  • Ready to work East coast business hours
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Experience in managing data to support and influence decisions on day-to-day operations, strategic planning and specific business performance issues
  • Experience in compiling, modeling, interpreting and analyzing data in order to identify, explain, influence variances and trends
  • Explains variances and trends and enhances modeling techniques
  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • Finance, Actuarial, or Accounting background
  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management Certification

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$95,300 - $131,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
