Job Duties and Responsibilities

Senior Software Test Engineer sought by DISH Network, LLC in Englewood, CO.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship around testing, automation, and frameworks
  • Lead requirements and test design/case reviews, perform test case reviews with other team members
  • Develop and review test plans, and test coverage including scope definition, resource identification, risks and schedule
  • Design, create, and maintain automation test scripts
  • Execute exploratory test scripts
  • Coordinate and manage a single application project from a test perspective, including assigned resources and testing progress
  • Gatekeeper for accepting code into an environment
  • Reviews progress with management/executives/stakeholders
  • Represent the test team in project status meetings and communicate issues appropriately
  • Define and implement new test strategies and best practices
  • Enhance overall management processes, including defect management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define quality goals and objectives
  • Mentor and support the growth of junior team members
  • Planning, conduct, and supervise projects/assignments, including evaluating results
  • Recommends changes in procedures

Position requires: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, electronic engineering or closely related, plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate and progressive experience as software test analyst or engineer or similar role. Also requires the following:
  • 5 years of experience constructing a test plan based on domain knowledge of an application and the requirements from a new feature(s). Identifying both positive and negative tests
  • 5 years of experience constructing a regression suite to ensure existing functionality is not broken
  • 5 years of experience with Test Automation using Java and Selenium
  • 3 years of experience with Web Service Testing, REST and SOAP APIs, including how to invoke them, how to interpret the results and how to manipulate the parameters being passed into the api
  • 3 years of experience with ReadyAPI and Groovy scripting experience to construct scripts in the tool
All of the experience may have been gained concurrently.

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $128,398.00/Year - $128,398.00/Year
