I went to a seminar on social media conducted by Matt Weis from Microtrain. He gave me some great ideas on how to perk up my visibility and I went from 6 views in one month to 130 in the following week on my L/I account. It got my phone ringing on at least two position that were never posted on traditional job boards. Many recruiters don't want to deal with the avalanche of resumes that come along with a job board posting. They would rather go find a few very qualified prospects and contact them directly. Invest the time. It's worth it.

Awesome infographic - I researched my first job on Twitter and was recruited for my second job via LinkedIn. Social media is a great tool for the job search.

Really useful infographic - lots of useful info there, many thanks :)

On a different note, I really like the title font use for headings; for example -  "a social resume is your online presence". Could you say what this font is? I would love to use it (acquiring it legally), but have no idea what it is!

Many thanks :)

Good tips! I think I'll mention that I volunteered recently as an ESL teacher and coach to an inexperienced one, while at a local new  Canadian language center!Students liked the format of the course, appreciated teacher encouragement  and the way the language was taught.
