Ever wondered what the perfect age is? You might think that your carefree teens and exploratory early 20s are the time of your life—but a recent British survey disagrees.

Turns out, 35 is the age of contentment, says the survey. Typically by your mid-30s, you’ve achieved some career milestones and a degree of financial security, but still have quite a few good years to enjoy. Intrigued? Learn more below, plus see what’s important to us at every life stage.

Very readable story, but a little depressing for all non-(and never will be again) 35-year-olds!
