This month, retailers have turned their products pink, NFL players donned rose-colored cleats, and millions of people have raised awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And companies nationwide have gotten in on the cause, too—coming up with unique ways for their employees and customers to contribute to the fight against breast cancer.

Check out two of our favorite companies and the great ways they made an impact this October.

eBay

Breast Cancer Awareness: How 2 Companies are Making a Difference

Silicon Valley-based eBay provided tons of ways for buyers and sellers to contribute to the cause—through buying, selling, or just simply clicking. Have some shopping to do today? Try one of these easy ways to contribute to the cause.

  • Browse eBay’s shopping listings for great items that give back to breast cancer research.
  • If you’re selling items, you can choose to give a certain percent (between 10 and 100%) of the proceeds to the cause. eBay makes it a great deal for you, too, by crediting your basic fees, equal to the percentage of your donation.
  • With the eBay Giving Works Hope Chest Campaign, you can take small actions—such as like a breast cancer charity on Facebook or download a breast health resource guide—and eBay will donate $1 to that charity (participating organizations are the Avon Foundation for Women, Bright Pink, City of Hope, and Nine West Runway Relief). With even just a few clicks, you can make a big difference!

Groupon

October at Chicago-based Groupon has been coined “Women’s Empowerment Month,” and it supports more than just breast cancer research. Here are just a few of the empowering events the company put on this month:

  • Employees hosted a bake sale to donate funds for Support1000—a nonprofit that works with organizations such as homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters to donate new and gently used bras to women in need.
  • Employees helped women battling breast cancer find their dream wedding gown at the Brides Against Breast Cancer Wedding Gown Sale in Chicago on October 6 and 7.
  • Groupon employees spent the day preparing lunch and playing bingo with residents at Deborah’s Place, a shelter for homeless women.
