Welcome to the Daily Muse!

We’re glad you found us, and we’re excited to get to know you.

So who are we? We’re three young women, all in our mid-twenties and veterans of a few professional struggles. Between us, we’ve built Excel models, worked abroad, and had to take criticism in front of a team. We’ve landed dream jobs and we’ve quit jobs. We’ve found mentors, succeeded at work, and gotten that first promotion.

What we haven’t done is found a publication that speaks to us, to a generation of smart, driven young women who are looking for a voice. So we decided to create one. Welcome to the Daily Muse.

Women are entering the workforce in record numbers, but still only 3% of Fortune 500 CEOs are female. Men negotiate their first salary nearly 60% of the time, but that figure is only 7% for women. The numbers tell a story: it’s time for our generation to step up.

We were told that we could be anything we wanted to be, but we didn’t necessarily find our passion in that first job out of college. We were told we’re the best and the brightest, but we’re still figuring out some of the business basics: how to negotiate a raise, how to manage others, and how to speak with authority when put in front of a room.

Sound familiar? Welcome, ambitious women. We’re here for you.

Want more? Take a tour of our site, read our manifesto on the Huffington Post, or Meet our Team. Say hi on Twitter @DailyMuse. We hope you stick around.

    Hello,
I am looking for suggestions on starting a consulting company to help students become college ready to avoid taking developmental courses. I will also focus on financial literacy and helping parents understand college. Any ideas or suggestions of websites to visit will be greatly appreciated.
