Here at The Daily Muse, there’s nothing we love more than you, our readers. And we know that the valuable insights and great advice you share are part of what makes our community so unique and so strong.
And that’s why we want to hear from you! We’re kicking off our second essay contest—that’s right, your opportunity to be featured on The Daily Muse. Anyone and everyone is welcome to enter, so join in, share your career savvy, and get your writing noticed!
To enter the contest, submit a 500-700 word essay on the topic: “Surviving a Workplace Disaster.” Maybe it’s the story of your company folding or your boss getting caught in a huge scandal. Maybe you accidentally cc’ed the entire office, or lit the breakroom on fire like Ryan from The Office. Your essay can be funny, serious, poignant, or inspirational—no matter what your experience, we want to hear from you!
Finalists will be published and promoted by The Daily Muse, and the first place winner will have his or her article featured on Forbes!
Guidelines
Submit your story by sending your essay as a Word document to contest@thedailymuse.com. The deadline has been extended to Tuesday, July 3 at 6:00 PM ET. No entries submitted after the deadline will be accepted.
After all entries are submitted, we’ll choose the finalists to be featured on The Daily Muse. We’ll be looking for creativity, high-quality writing, and stories that will be engaging to our readers.
Each of the finalists’ essays will be featured on The Daily Muse during the first week of July, during our “Workplace Disasters Week.” We will notify each finalist via email, along with the date that their story will be featured.
Voting
After all the finalists have appeared on the site, we’ll open up voting for the first place winner to our readers. The winner will be solely based on reader votes. Voting will take place July 8-13. So, spread the word about your favorite finalist on your blog, your Twitter account, your Facebook page, and through good ol’ word-of-mouth!
Winner
The winner of the contest will be announced on Friday, July 13.
