This post seems strangely cynical and frankly a bit irresponsible for a site that bills itself as a career destination for expert advice. Why would you want to encourage paranoia and misunderstandings between managers and employees? Workplace communication is complicated enough without assigning arbitrary hidden meanings. As someone who has managed a team of 20, I can say you are very wrong on several of these. I get that you're trying to be funny/sarcastic, but it strikes a really odd and off-putting tone.
Ever get that feeling your boss is saying one thing, but really means something entirely different? Yeah, us too.
Fortunately, one of the many languages we speak at The Daily Muse is Boss, and we’ve created a handy cheat sheet you can keep at your desk to translate your manager’s messages.
