Our Opportunity:

We are looking for a Software Engineer III at our facility in Boston, Massachusetts, on the Pet Health development team to build a robust, resilient, and scalable platform.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design and build of production-ready code enforcing CI/CD processes to ensure speed and quality.
  • Design, build, deploy and scale major platform components.
  • Adhere to enterprise design and coding standards.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers to deliver the best quality code through design and code reviews.
  • Build a culture of innovation through rapid prototyping and continuous delivery to production.
  • Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos, and retros.
  • 10% domestic travel required.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per week.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree and 2 years of experience
  • Experience must involve the following: designing, building, deploying, and scaling systems or applications using Java frameworks, including Spring Boot for RESTful APIs and microservices;
  • Building and deploying CI/CD pipelines and using cloud platforms;
  • Docker, Kubernetes and Jenkins;
  • Helm Charts;
  • AWS or similar cloud platforms;
  • Frontend technologies and frameworks, such as React, Angular, or TypeScript;
  • E-commerce or Healthcare;
  • Working with distributed systems and high-volume transaction applications that run within a 24/7 environment.
  • 10% domestic travel required
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per week
